About CPS

Case Packing Systems is part of the Swedish XANO Group and develops and builds smart, high-performance case packing solutions for demanding industries worldwide. With over 30 years of experience and a team of 80 dedicated professionals, we have built a reputation for engineering excellence and deep technical knowledge, where we work on customer-specific solutions for the final packaging of both flexible and rigid products. Our customers are spread all over the world.

We are currently in an exciting transition phase. Moving towards a more scalable, "Configure to Order" (CTO) way of working is a long-standing wish at CPS, and this role must truly lead the technology to make it happen. This evolution is supported by a platform-based methodology which we are implementing for all our developments. To lead this evolution within our Engineering department, we need a hands-on Manager who reports directly to the MD and is ready to dive into the technology alongside the team.

The Role

We are looking for a multidisciplinary Manager Engineering who thrives at the intersection of leadership and execution. You will oversee a broad scope including System Design & Testing, Mechanical, Software, and Electrical Engineering.

This isn't a "desk-only" management role. You will be a working leader—not just managing the group but actively designing and engineering systems yourself. You are a technical sparring partner for our engineers, especially when it comes to understanding and participating in software development. Your mission is to take our clear roadmap and turn it into reality by fostering ownership, structure, and seamless collaboration across the entire organization.

In this role you report directly to the Managing Director.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be responsible for the heartbeat of our technical department, ensuring that engineering, development, and support (for projects, factory, and service) work in perfect harmony.

  • Drive the transition: Technically lead and realize our long-standing wish to shift from pure engineering to a Configure to Order (CTO) model.
  • Embed platform working: Implement and secure a standardized platform way of working across all our developments.
  • Multidisciplinary leadership & design: Organize teams and workflows per product, while staying hands-on by contributing to actual design and engineering work.
  • Process optimization: Set up and refine departmental processes to accelerate output and automate where possible.
  • Definition & planning: Clearly define desired results at the front end of projects and maintain sharp planning, priorities, and delivery milestones.
  • Bridge engineering & service: Support and strengthen the service department through technical expertise, practical solutions, and continuous collaboration.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned technical leader who understands that a great plan is only as good as its execution. You know how to simplify complex challenges and bring people along during times of change.

  • Technically versatile & hands-on: You have strong multidisciplinary experience and a passion to actively design and engineer systems alongside your team.
  • Platform experience (Must-have): You have proven experience in setting up or working with platform-based methodologies; this is a must to align all our developments.
  • Pragmatic change agent: You have proven experience with CTO transitions and know how to technically lead this long-awaited shift.
  • Structure-driven: You naturally bring order to chaos, establishing clear ownership and leadership within teams.
  • Effective communicator: Reporting directly to the MD, you can translate a high-level roadmap into concrete actions that the team understands and feels ownership over.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means the Engineering department operates as a well-oiled, multidisciplinary machine. The transition to CTO is no longer a wish, but a daily technical reality. Bottlenecks are reduced through automation, our platform way of working, and better planning. Ultimately, there is a tangible sense of ownership within the teams, directly fueling the growth and scalability of CPS.

Why Join CPS?

Working at CPS means working in an informal environment where we know each other by name. Within our company, initiative is valued and your contribution has a tangible impact within the organization. CPS offers the stability of a company with over 30 years of history combined with the energy of an organization moving into a new phase of professionalization.

  • Lead the evolution: Play a defining role in technically realizing our CTO and platform goals.
  • High complexity: Work on sophisticated, high-performance systems for a global market.
  • Impact: Move from ideas to action in an environment where you report directly to the MD and your technical expertise directly influences the company’s performance.

You can count on a good salary and excellent benefits, including 27 vacation days and 13 ATV days.
