Build sustainable customer relationships and drive international growth at an innovative machine manufacturer.
As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for further developing the market in Western and Northern Europe. You will build on existing customer relationships while actively creating new market opportunities. You understand your customers’ processes, know how to uncover their underlying needs, and translate complex production and packaging challenges into suitable turnkey solutions.
You are an entrepreneurial and reliable business partner who communicates comfortably at different levels within international organisations. Thanks to your technical knowledge and commercial insight, you are able to build long-term relationships and guide customers throughout the entire sales process. You do not wait for opportunities to arise—you take the initiative, identify opportunities, and actively contribute to the continued development of CPS. You will work closely with colleagues from the Operations Office, engineering, project management, and service departments to develop the best solution for each customer.
Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
• Taking responsibility for the commercial development of Western and Northern Europe.
• Maintaining and further expanding existing customer relationships and agent networks.
• Actively identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Advising customers on technically complex turnkey solutions.
• Managing the entire commercial process, from initial contact through to contract signing.
• Working closely with the internal organisation.
• Building sustainable relationships based on trust, expertise, and continuity.
• Representing CPS during customer visits, trade fairs, and networking events.
• Contributing to the organisation’s continued commercial development.
• Working closely with your Sales colleagues and reporting to the Sales Director.
Your background
You are a commercially driven professional who thrives on developing international markets and building sustainable customer relationships. You are entrepreneurial, dependable, and trustworthy, with the right combination of commercial drive and technical expertise. You understand that successfully selling capital equipment requires in-depth conversations, perseverance, and the ability to build trust.
In addition, they require:
• A completed bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or commercial field.
• Experience in mechanical engineering or industrial automation, preferably within the packaging industry.
• Experience with international project sales and consultative selling.
• An affinity with production processes and integrated technical solutions.
• An entrepreneurial, independent, and results-oriented attitude.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships, both internally and externally.
• Good command of at least Dutch and English.
• Willingness to travel internationally approximately 40% of the time.
