Turn strategic customers into long-term partners

The greatest commercial opportunities arise from existing strategic relationships. As Key Account Manager, you will help CPS evolve from a supplier into a strategic partner. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the ambitions, production processes, and investment plans of a select number of international key accounts and translate these into sustainable commercial growth.

You are a knowledgeable business partner who moves effortlessly between the production floor, technical departments, and senior management. You ask incisive questions, understand the customer’s challenges, and work with colleagues from the Operations Office, Engineering, Project Management, and Service to translate them into suitable turnkey solutions. You think ahead, develop strategic account plans, and ensure CPS is involved at an early stage in discussions about future investments.

Your main tasks and responsibilities include:

    •    Developing and executing strategic account plans for international key accounts.
    •    Further expanding existing customer relationships and creating sustainable partnerships.
    •    Identifying customers’ investment plans, production developments, and growth potential.
    •    Identifying and developing commercial opportunities within existing accounts.
    •    Acting as the connecting link between international key accounts and the internal organisation, translating commercial opportunities into technically feasible and customer-focused solutions.
    •    Translating market developments, customer needs, and strategic account plans into concrete actions for the Operations Office, Engineering, Project Management, and Service.
    •    Building sustainable relationships with stakeholders at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
    •    Representing CPS during customer visits, trade fairs, and networking events.
    •    Working closely with your Sales colleagues and reporting to the Sales Director.

Your background

You are a strategically minded account manager who thrives on developing customers over the long term. You combine commercial insight with technical understanding, honour your commitments, and build sustainable relationships through expertise, curiosity, and genuine interest. You are entrepreneurial, take the initiative, and enjoy working with others to achieve tangible results.

In addition, they require:

    •    A completed bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or commercial field.
    •    Experience in mechanical engineering or industrial automation, preferably within the packaging industry.
    •    Experience in Key Account Management or complex project sales.
    •    A consultative approach and the ability to develop relationships at different organisational levels.
    •    Technical insight and strong commercial persuasion skills.
    •    Good command of Dutch and English.
    •    Willingness to travel internationally approximately 40% of the time.

The offer

You will join CPS at an exciting stage in its development. The organisation is entering a new phase of growth and is investing significantly in further professionalisation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build long-term partnerships, visibly influence the company’s commercial direction, and contribute directly to CPS’s future success.

At CPS, you will have the opportunity to truly operate entrepreneurially. Ideas are valued, initiative is encouraged, and you will be given the responsibility to make a visible contribution to the continued growth of both the organisation and its international customers.

CPS offers the following employment conditions, among others:

    •    An independent strategic commercial position offering considerable freedom and responsibility.
    •    The opportunity to work with international key accounts in an innovative mechanical engineering environment.
    •    Plenty of scope for initiative, entrepreneurship, and your own ideas.
    •    Short communication lines, an informal culture, and a committed organisation.
    •    A competitive employment package, including a company car, laptop, and phone.
